NUR 2139 - Complex Nursing Liberal Arts
Class Hours: 5 class hours per week and 12 clinical hours per week. Semester Credit Hours: 9
The student should complete any core courses not previously taken. This course is a culminating course requiring synthesis and application of knowledge gained in previous courses. It includes the study of individuals with biopsychosocial stressors that affect multiple body systems and the transition from student to graduate. The concepts of the individual, health-illness, growth & development, communication, nursing process, stress-adaptation and the associate degree nursing role are utilized in the delivery of nursing care to individuals in a variety of health care settings. Transition from student to graduate nurse is facilitated through the refinement of management and organizational skills. The nursing process is used as a basis for providing and coordinating care for a small group of patients with complex health care needs.
Prerequisite(s): NUR 2113 and NUR 2129 .
