Associate of Arts

All academic pathways at Jones College are designed to lead to an associate degree. The following advisement plan is a recommended course of study only. Academic pathways offered at Jones College are designed to meet the educational needs and advancement of students who plan to graduate at Jones College and then transfer course credit to a university and complete a degree. As part of each academic pathway, students will take courses to meet Jones College’s general education core requirements and electives as determined by the student under advisement with a faculty advisor. For additional course options to meet degree requirements for the pathway, see the Graduation Checklist Associate in Arts

To streamline the transfer of credit from Jones College to any university in the State of Mississippi, Jones College Board participates in the articulation agreement between the Mississippi Community College Board and the Mississippi Institutions of Higher Learning.  For the purpose of ensuring transfer-ability within Mississippi, the Mississippi Articulation Transfer Tool (MATT) shall be used to advise and guide students in choosing the best courses to take as part of the requirements to graduate from Jones College with an associate degree.

Students are encouraged to also research the curriculum for their desired degree program at their university of choice as well as the course credits that are transferable from Jones College. This knowledge will be instrumental for the student in choosing the best courses to take as part of the requirements to graduate from Jones College with an Associate of Arts Degree. For more information on courses offered at Jones College, see Course Descriptions .  The student will bear the ultimate responsibility for choosing the courses that meet graduation and transfer requirements.

If there are questions, current students should contact their faculty advisor and potential students should contact Enrollment Services .
