NUR 1113 - LPN to ADN Transition

Class Hours: 8.25 class hours per week and 10.5 clinical hours per week for one summer term (13. 5 clinical hours are designated for additional clinical activities).
Semester Credit Hours: 3

This course is designed to assist the Licensed Practical Nurse to transition from a licensed practical nurse (LPN) to a registered nurse (RN). In the course, the student is introduced to the JCJC ADN Philosophy, conceptual framework, educational outcomes, and program outcomes. The transition process, core competencies for professional nursing practice, and role concepts essential for RN practice are incorporated to facilitate skills and role transition to that of a registered nurse.

Prerequisite(s): BIO 2514, BIO 2524, BIO 2924,MAT 1313, and FCS 1253
