NUR 2129 - Maternal-Child Nursing


Liberal Arts 

Class Hours: 5 class hours per week and 12 clinical hours per week.
Semester Credit Hours: 9

This course emphasizes the study of the individual in the child bearing cycle, the neonate, and the child from infancy through adolescence giving consideration to the position on the health-illness continuum. The effects of stress on the biopsychosocial systems of the individual in the child bearing cycle, the neonate and the child are examined. Concepts of growth and development and appropriate communication techniques are further explored and integrated into the nursing process.
