This course emphasizes the individual as a unique physical being with multiple physiologic and psychosocial needs. The concepts of patient-centered care, safe patient outcomes, fundamental nursing communication, patient information confidentiality, the nurse’s role in the healthcare team, and evidence-based practice are introduced in the course. The nursing process is introduced along with fundamental nursing skills.
