Program Requirements:


The following advisement plan is a recommended course of study. Academic programs offered at Jones College are designed to meet the educational needs and advancement of students who plan to transfer course credit to a university and complete a bachelor’s degree. As part of each academic program, students will take courses to meet the Jones College’s general education core requirements and electives as determined by the student and his/her faculty advisor. All academic programs are designed to lead to an Associate of Arts degree.

To streamline the transfer of credit from Jones College to any university in the State of Mississippi, Jones College participates in the articulation agreement between the Mississippi Community College Board and the Mississippi Institutions of Higher Learning. For the purpose of ensuring transfer-ability within Mississippi, the Mississippi Articulation Transfer Tool (MATT) shall be used to advise and guide students in choosing the best courses to take as part of the requirements to graduate from Jones College with an Associate of Arts degree.

1Students that do not meet the pre-requisites for Anatomy and Physiology I are advised to take the General Biology I and II course sequence.

2Elective hours are advised for student seeking to complete requirements for an associate of arts degree from JC. Students wishing to complete the USM organic chemistry requirements should take General Chemistry II in the Freshman spring semester (in place of the social science or fine arts course) and take CHE 2424 - Organic Chemistry I during the fall semester of the sophomore year. Displaced courses from these two semesters could be taken during the spring semester of the sophomore year.
